PROFILE
The Tamilnadu Chemists & Druggists Association (TNCDA), is a representative body of nearly 30,000 members engaged in pharmaceuticals retail and wholesale trade. The TNCDA is affiliated to the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (Regd) (AIOCD), looking to it for guidance and direction, and also supports and works in close co-ordination with the apex all India body.
The prime objective of TNCDA is to protect the interest of our members and the general public and ensure a constant flow of distribution of the best quality of medicines in the prescribed rates at every nook and corner of the country. We also ensure that there is a good rapport with Industry and Government bodies at State level.
The members of this body are professionally working as Pharmacy Distributors, Stockiest, General Wholesalers and Retail Chemists throughout the state of Tamilnadu. The basic purpose of this body is to streamline the distribution pattern of Pharma Distribution, so that an unbroken chain of life-saving and essential drugs is maintained throughout the nook and corner of the state.
The day to day problems of the retailers, wholesalers etc, are taken up by this body through respective District Associations and interactions are made with the relevant quarters, like Government Agencies, Pharmacy Manufacturers/Manufacturer Organizations, Professional Forums etc. to mitigate the problems of the members and to develop the profession of pharmacy in India, with the help and guidance of the AIOCD, that too in a most cordial atmosphere.
All the Tamilnadu District Associations, numbering around 26 districts, are affiliated to this Tamilnadu Chemists and Druggists Association.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
To serve as a local point and platform wherein the members of the Chemists and Druggists Trade in Tamilnadu will meet together and pool together and exchange their knowledge and devise ways and means of broadening their knowledge of the Trade with a view to resolve their common or mutual or individual problems by collective endeavour and by involving the instrumentalities furnished by the Association.
To serve as a unified and common mouth piece of the Chemists & Druggists Trade in Tamilnadu in General and serve as a representative body to meet the Government and other public authorities from time to time and focus the attention of all or any such authorities on the problems and programmes of the Trade and members with a view to help the members of the Association.
To collect, distribute, publish and otherwise disseminate and make available to the members of the Trade and also members of the public information, data, literature, books, booklets, records and information in whatever manner known to science which are of use, interest and importance to the Trade and the members and the public and to maintain library and / or fund for the said purpose.
To take all necessary steps to secure the betterment and improvement of the economic and legal condition of the Chemists & Druggists Trade in Tamilnadu, either by itself or in conjuction with like-minded bodies in the State and consider the measures affecting such Trade from time to time and to take necessary and suitable steps to that the vital interests of the trade are not in any way affected adversely.
To do and perform all acts necessary for or incidental to or required for the achievements of the above objects.
AIMS & OBJECTS:
To settle disputes or controversies among members of the association and to assist members in settling disputes with the manufacturers and represent members in disputes before conciliation officers or any other authority.
To seek legal remedy on any problem of general nature faced by any or many members.
To become member or get affiliated to any other associations for the benefit of the members.
To accept and make gifts, donations, awards from and to individuals, organisations and Governments.
To borrow from Bank or Banks or individuals amounts necessary for carrying out the objects of the association.
To conduct free medical camps for the benefit of the public.
To do all other acts necessary for the benefit of the members and public as well as decided by the Association from time to time.
